American stays at British hotel – and is flabbergasted by kettle and bathroom - Mirror Online

Quirks of British hotels are things we're all likely used to, because many of us will have stayed in one for one reason or another.

But when one American man came to the UK he was left flabbergasted at some of the features his room had - but many Brits pointed out that they're things that you just expect.

TiKTok user @cooper.little24 captioned his video: "My first day in the UK. Hotel update. Things are definitely different over here but I think I can manage". In the clip, he then went on to point out the things he "noticed right off the bat".

His first gripe was that there's "no mini fridge", because there isn't a place for him to put his beer. He pointed at the kettle, saying: "That coffee maker is pretty small", and he also didn't like that there was "no microwave" and that the "TV is tiny".

However, he admitted that his "real complaints" are about the bathroom, sharing that he thought the bathtub was "abnormally tall". "You have to literally step up into the bathtub", he shared - which is normal for many British householders.

He said after he showered, he "almost fell down" because he's not used to it. He also fumed that the "toilet paper only comes out two sheets at a time", as it's in a specific dispenser. He launched into a rant about how he liked to use more loo roll for extra "coverage", calling it "weird" that only two sheets came out at a time. "No washcloths", he whined, "They only use hand towels".

In the comments, many Brits set him straight, saying that the bath was "normal" and they didn't understand his complaint. Someone also wrote: "Washcloths are considered personal items, and you'd be expected to supply your own."

Another penned: "Calling a kettle a coffee maker is wild", and someone replied: "Most Americans don't have electric kettles, he's probably never seen one before, would be fun to see him make a drink", followed by crying with laughter emojis.
